Privacy Policy

When EdUHK collects information from you, it is our policy to meet fully the requirements of the PDPO in relation to the collection, use, retention, transfer and access of personal data ("Information"). The Policy set out hereunder regarding the use of personal data and information collected on the Ed Job Plus website ("Information") is applicable to the services provided and maintained by Ed Job Plus. You hereby agree that any Information supplied by you to EdUHK is on a voluntary basis, and warrant that such Information is accurate, true, current and complete.

1. Purpose for which Information are collected and used
The purposes for which EdUHK collects, uses and maintains Information include the following:
a. Information submitted by Jobseekers will be used for the purpose of assisting him/her to find appropriate employment with Employer and assisting Employer to assess the suitability of candidates for a job vacancy within the Employer's organization in the manner specified under the Terms and Conditions.
b. Information submitted by Jobseekers and Employers will be used by EdUHK to verify their identity and eligibility for using Ed Job Plus
c. Information submitted by Jobseekers and Employers will be used by EdUHK to produce usage data of Ed Job Plus and statistical analysis in aggregate form.

2. Transfer of Information
You are aware, agree and authorize that all Information collected will be retained by and stored in EdUHK databases and may be provided to, disclosed to, accessed by and transferred within or outside Hong Kong to : -
i. the registered Employer;
ii. any person whom the Employer or EdUHK is required by applicable legal, governmental or regulatory requirements to make disclosure;
iii. any other person reasonably requiring the same in order for the Employer to carry out the purposes for which the Information are to be used as mentioned under 1. "Condition of Use of Ed Job Plus" above;
iv. service providers of EdUHK.
You agree that EdUHK may disclose your Information when such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with applicable law or court order, or as requested by any government or law enforcement authorities, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any user agreements related to the above stated purposes, (iii) protect the rights, property or interest of EdUHK or Ed Job Plus or in circumstances which EdUHK considers to be related to any of the purposes for which the Information are collected, or (iv) comply with the Employers' Privacy Policy Statement (if any).

3. Employer's obligation under the PDPO
The Employer will apply and follow the laws and principles of the PDPO.

4. Accessing and correcting Information
Jobseekers have a right to request access to and correction of Information collected from them. The Jobseeker can delete or correct his or her own Information by logging into their account and changing their Information via the My Resume section of Ed Job Plus.
If you wish to obtain a copy of any of your Information or if you believe that the Information relating to you which EdUHK collects and maintains is inaccurate, you may make the relevant data access request in accordance with the PDPO. The request should be sent to EdUHK Administrator of Ed Job Plus. In accordance with the PDPO, EdUHK has the right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request.

5. Retention of Personal Details
Subject to legal requirements, the personal data of Jobseeker and any Employer will otherwise be retained by EdUHK for not more than 3 months after cessation of the relevant service under any of the following circumstances:
- from the date the Jobseeker formally withdraws from the Ed Job Plus service as mentioned under Conditions of Use 1b and 1c above;
- from the date EdUHK terminates the account of a Jobseeker for any reason mentioned under Conditions of Use 1e above; or
- from the date the service of Ed Job Plus to any recent graduate of EdUHK expires (i.e. 12 months following the date of graduation of the Jobseeker).
- from the date that the Employer withdraws from the Ed Job Plus service or from the date EdUHK terminates the provision of services to the Employer under these Terms and Conditions.
- The personal information of job applicants (if any) on the Internship page will be kept for 5 years.
